DESIGN PROCESS

  1. DESIGN DISCOVERY & CONSULTATION:

The early stage of our process starts with the details you provide in PROJECT INQUIRY form. We follow up by email with our INVESTMENT GUIDE, and schedule a complimentary Discovery Call via Zoom.
Now that we have had a chance to chat and are excited to continue our journey together we can schedule our initial design consultation! This is our first chance to see your existing space or review plans for a new build and a very exciting time for us as designers. We take this time to expand on the things we discussed in our discovery call and better understand the scope of work. We also use this time to review this WELCOME PACKAGE. This allows us to answer any questions you may have about fees, the process, timeline, budgets, project team and ensure we are aligned. Sometimes , if time allows, we take photos and measurements but usually we schedule a return date to accomplish those tasks.

  2. DESIGN PROPOSAL:

After seeing your space or plans, it is time for us to create your design proposal. This is a document that lists the scope of work discussed and our corresponding estimated design fees for your project. Once you are prepared to move forward you can sign the design contract and pay the retainer. This retainer is held and deducted from the final design invoice.

  3. DESIGN CONCEPT & DEVELOPMENT:

It is time to get to work! After the signed contract and retainer have been received we begin our job of creating your beautiful space. We often schedule another site visit at this stage to take measurements and photographs so we have all the information at our fingertips. For larger projects we may require additional steps to complete a 'Plan Review' or 'Planning Development' of existing and new plans. This can be an integrated approach with the construction and plan team to ensure the steps and process are outlined, as well as any plan details that require adjustment. We may also provide you with a shared 'Pinterest' board link to gain insight into the style in elements you are drawn to, in additional to combining through functional and style assessments. Our design process will take time as we are juggling all of our projects in addition to yours. We know it is exciting, we will walk you through the process so you know what to expect. We allow an average of 4-6 weeks with new builds or remodels requiring a more extensive timeframe for us to complete your design. We will outline this estimated timeframe in your design proposal.

  4. DESIGN PRESENTATION:

After carefully constructing your personal design plan it is time to meet to review it. Accompanied with various samples (paint, rug, fabric, tile, hardware etc), we present a slideshow that layers the elements we have selected for a completed, beautiful and cohesive design. We present pricing *where available alongside each element for your consideration. We also include one round of revisions on your design plan.

  5. DESIGN IMPLEMENTATION PROCUREMENT | TRADES | *CONSTRUCTION (if required):

Now that we have approved design plans and elements, we send along the furnishing and decor invoice with each item listed. We require an 80% deposit to place orders. If your project has construction elements (whether a small renovation or an entire home remodel) we send your contractor/ trade the plans and information they require from our end. This might be as simple as a paint/wallpaper schedule or as complex as a full kitchen design and lighting plan for an entire home. This will entirely depend on your project. This step in the process is the most lengthy and requires you to do a lot of waiting and watching the process unfold. Whether you are waiting for custom furniture or renovations to finish up, we do our best to keep you informed of timelines and project progress reports. This is also the step that involves the most problem solving. This is expected and normal in any project. In some projects our services carry through this process and we are involved in the collaborative team suggesting solutions to any issues that may arise.

  6. NEARING COMPLETION:

We are almost there and the finish line is within sight. At this phase your contractor/ trade would be finishing up any construction. We can aid in scheduling any required post-construction cleaning as well as preparing for our final installation. This means we will be sending along our What to Expect on Installation Day guides. We will also be sending along a Household Shopping List if there are items like sheets, towels, shower curtains etc that you want us to purchase and prepare/ launder for you. We do our best to provide pricing on these household items but depending on what is available to us at local suppliers, this is just an estimate. Once most (if not all) of the large items have been received as well as decor elements and any household items are purchased, it is time to coordinate the delivery of your furnishings. We also schedule our handyman for any installation of mirrors, artwork, drapery, blinds, bath hardware and other elements. Mark the date in you calendar because it is an exciting one!

  7. INSTALLATION, DELIVERIES, STYLING & PHOTOS:

The day we have been waiting for has arrived and it will be a busy one. You will have received our Installation Day guides at this point and will have been given a schedule of how the day will unfold. We strongly recommend that you not be on site for this day, no matter how hard it is to stay away. This is not just for safety reasons but so you get to experience the FINAL REVEAL which is always the best part of this entire process. Once you do return home, we do a complete walkthrough with you to guide you through your new space and to answer any questions you may have. We leave you with those final decor pieces that we styled throughout and you can decide which items you'd like to keep. We also hope to take a few photographs for our social media (we keep our client names confidential) but we might schedule a separate day for that also. Now it's time finally time for you to relax and enjoy your new space!

  8. THANK YOU FOR WORKING WITH US!

Once that final Reveal Day has come and gone and you've had a chance to decide which decor items you'd like to keep, we send out our final installation day & decor invoice (which can also include delivery and/or handyman fees). We will follow up on any outstanding items that may be on backorder or taking a little longer to arrive and keep you informed of this information. We like to provide all our clients with a Goodbye Guide that includes any tips for care and maintenance on your furniture and accessories as well as any relevant warranties. We always hate to say goodbye at the end of a project so hopefully we get to work together again!
